Regent's Utica-Rome cluster is losing two key players. According to job postings on AllAccess.com, longtime Production Director Geoff Storm and Big Frog 104 (WFRG) midday hostess "Meredith McGreen" are both leaving the cluster's River Road studios in Marcy.

Ithaca news/talker WHCU 870 is celebrating it's 85th Anniversary by expanding the news department. The station is hoping to add a full-time position to take on afternoon anchoring and evening reporting duties.

UPDATE (4/23/08): The position has been filled. Looks like Whoopi Goldberg's about to get whooped in Utica/Rome -- Galaxy Communications has posted an "immediate opening" for a morning show host at WUMX Mix 102.5, one of the properties it acquired from ClearChannel last fall.
Thanks to a quiet off-air fundraising campaign in Februrary which raised $90,000, public radio station WRVO was able to shorten the length of its on-air pitches last week. The station met its goal of $130,000 on Saturday morning shortly after Car Talk ended. The fund drive resulted in 400 new contributing members.
