ITHACA — Real Rock Radio 93.5 WVBR, owned by Cornell Radio Guild, Inc., is looking for some help in the sales office. Although it’s staffed primarily by Cornell University students, WVBR is a commercial station thanks to its independent ownership. Here’s a job posting we received from WVBR’s Robert Schur:

UTICA/ROME — Arjuna Broadcasting’s 92.7 The Drive (WXUR) is taking applications for a job opening in the sales department. Here’s the full job description as provided to CNYRadio.com by WXUR’s Jack Moran.

UTICA/ROME — Roser Communications Networks CHR Kiss-FM (WSKS/WSKU) is on the hunt for a new night host and webmaster, as Johnny Lew announces he’s leaving the station.  “After almost two great years,” PD Shaun Andrews says Lew’s last day is Friday.

SYRACUSE — Almost two weeks following the sudden resignation of longtime News Director Jim Tortora, ABC affiliate NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV) has officially posted an opening for a News Director on its website.  Among other requirements, the announcement requires candidates have at least five years of news management experience.

ITHACA/CORTLAND — The Cayuga Radio Group of Saga Communications has an opening for a programming and promotions person.  We’re told the lucky candidate will replace Jason Kester, who originally planned to leave in December, but he had delayed his departure until the spring.

ITHACA — Saga’s Cayuga Radio Group is on the lookout for a traffic manager… meaning “schedule the commercials” kind of traffic, not the “Route 13 is jammed” kind of traffic. It’s a fast paced job, and while experience is preferred — especially with Marketron — training will be provided for the right candidate.

OSWEGO — NPR affiliate WRVO is putting out the call for applications for a Technology/Innovation Reporter. Ryan Morden, who currently occupies the post, is leaving early next month, so the clock is ticking to find a replacement.

SYRACUSE — It’s not necessarily all broadcasting related, but at least two local media outlets will be in attendance for an upcoming career fair hosted by the Syracuse Crunch. The Crunch and several other professional teams from all over upstate New York will be on hand to discuss job openings within their organizations.

UTICA/ROME — Roser Communications Network is looking for someone to run the board for its two Bug Country (WBGK/WBUG) stations.  The part-time position, mostly on weekends, involves shifts during remotes and football games.

UTICA/ROME — Roser Communications Network is seeking a new host for Talk of the Town, the two-hour local talk show which airs weekday mornings on the trimulcast of B95.5 (W238CA), WUTQ and WADR.  Former host Mike Walsh has accepted a new job elsewhere.
