Galaxy Media Founder Ed Levine to Retire

SYRACUSE — Ed Levine, founder and CEO of Galaxy Media Partners, is reportedly planning to retire by the end of this year, according to a published report. Starting with one Utica-Rome radio station in 1990, Levine has grown Galaxy to more than a dozen radio stations in Syracuse and Utica, along with a live events division.

UTICA-ROME — A video posted on social media by Townsquare Media’s Big Frog 104 (WFRG) reveals former Galaxy staffer Brett Hall is joining the longtime country powerhouse as Polly Wogg’s co-host. Hall’s set to make his on-air debut this coming Monday, August 3.

Utica’s Roser Surrenders License for WVTL

UTICA-ROME — Another AM station bites the dust. Locally-owned Roser Communications Network has surrendered its broadcast license for 1570 WVTL Amsterdam. In turn, the Federal Communications Commission announced today that the license has been cancelled, effective July 6, 2026.
