Don't 'Wait, Wait' to buy tickets

WRVO FM 90 is bringing the NPR news quiz show Wait, Wait... Don't Tell Me to Syracuse this Thursday night for a live broadcast recording of the weekly program hosted by Peter Sagal.

In addition to the show's roster of regular players including Sue Ellicott and Mo Rocca, Syracuse University basketball coach Jim Boeheim will be in the hot seat for the 'Not My Job' segment. Showtime is 7:30 on Thursday at the Mulroy Civic Center.

Tickets are still available, but the event is expected to sell out.

The 'Cosmic Cowboy' chimes in

Lou Rouviere thinks Syracuse New Times writer Kevin Corbett should broaden his horizons a bit when it comes to country music.

Rouviere, a former WSCP jock known as 'The Cosmic Cowboy', may have moved south a decade ago, but he hasn't given up on artists like David Allan Coe and Guy Clark whom he calls "real country artists writing real country songs."

Jason Kidd on the move again

Former Hot 107-9 (WWHT) jock and program director Jason Kidd is heading back to his hometown of Baltimore.

Kidd, who has had stops in Pittsburgh and Baltimore since leaving Syracuse two and a half years ago, was most recently program director at KOYT in Austin, Texas. His first day of work in Baltimore at Infinity sister station Mix 106-5 (WWMX) is next Tuesday.

B104.7, Ron & Becky CMA nominees

B104.7 (WBBS) has been nominated by the Country Music Association (CMA) as one of the best country stations in the nation.

B104.7 is one of five stations up for the medium market station of the year award at this November's 38th Annual CMA Awards to be held in Nashville.

The station's morning team of Ron Bee & Becky Palmer were also nominated for personalities of the year for medium sized markets.

It's Mooney in the Morning at WKRT

Cortland's News Talk 920 WKRT debuts a new morning show next week.

Kevin Mooney hosts Mooney in the Mornings weekdays from 6 - 9 a.m. The new local show replaces Doug Stephan's syndicated program Good Day.

Mooney, a graduate of SUNY Oswego's broadcasting program, has worked for WFAN AM in New York City and was the producer of The Jim Reith Show on 570 WSYR in Syracuse for several years.

Kevin Kline's move from CNY to NYC

Klein, who recently left his digs in Syracuse for the Big Apple, has been heard on XM Radio's MTV and VH1 channels and on New York's 92-3 K-Rock (WXRK). Clear Channel scales back radio ads
