Former Syracuse Anchor Gets "CBS Evening News" Sundays

NEW YORK CITY -- Former Syracuse TV news anchor Jeff Glor has been named regular Sunday night anchor for the CBS Evening News.  The 1997 graduate of Syracuse University's Newhouse School worked for NBC affiliate WSTM-TV from 1997 to 2003.  From there, he went to Boston's WHDH-TV before joining CBS News in 2007.

Cumulus Ends Buffalo Bills Deal, Syracuse/Utica Impact Unclear

Updated 1/4 -- BUFFALO -- Multiple news media outlets in western New York's largest city are reporting Cumulus Media's Buffalo cluster has terminated its 13-year deal to broadcast and syndicate Buffalo Bills games. That report has been creating some question about radio coverage in Syracuse and Utica when the Bills return to the field for the 2012 NFL season later this year.

WSYR Adding Bob Lonsberry for Afternoons

SYRACUSE -- There will be a new local talk show on FM Newsradio 106.9 and 570 WSYR starting next Monday.  Morning host Joe Galuski announced on-air the 3-5pm timeslot will be filled by Bob Lonsberry, a familiar name in the Rochester market, where he's been doing radio for more than 25 years.  The addition of Lonsberry also means additional schedule changes through the evening hours.

Dave Frisina Fired From TK99 and WOUR

Updated 12/31 -- SYRACUSE -- Longtime local rock radio personality Dave Frisina was fired by Galaxy Communications after his airshifts today on Syracuse's TK99/TK105 (WTKW/WTKV) and Utica's 96.9 WOUR.  After he broke the news on his own Twitter feed, local media outlets quickly picked up the story.  Frisina started his radio career over 33 years ago at 95X (WAQX) and made the move to TK99 in 2003.
