SYRACUSE -- Less than two hours after Foxfur Communications launched a new country format on "Wolf 105.1" (WVOA), Clear Channel, the owner of heritage country station B104.7 (WBBS) has fired back its own salvo -- flipping urban-formatted Power 106.9 over to "Young Country 106.9."

SYRACUSE -- You often hear about hockey players being sent back and forth between the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL and its parent club, the Columbus Blue Jackets. Today, the NHL team announced it's calling up Crunch broadcaster Bob McElligott.
Stations all over the country have been paying tribute to Michael Jackson, since the news broke of the singer's sudden death at the age of 50 on Thursday. Several in Central New York were among them, including at least two that threw out their regular formats to play the King of Pop's hits exclusively.
