It appears that Jim Tate is no longer handling afternoon drive duties at Buckley’s WSEN 92.1 in Baldwinsville.  A poster on one local message board claims he has exited from the station altogether, but that is not confirmed.

The vicious wind storms that left more than 140,000 Central New Yorkers without power also took WSEN off the air for roughly 12 hours Monday.

Laura Ingraham’s syndicator, Talk Radio Network, tells affiliates she will be back on the air by Monday… after a long absence which — according to national radio columnist Tom Taylor — angered many affiliates.  Ingraham’s show is carried in Syracuse, Utica and Watertown.

Nope, it’s not another format change.  “Ciao!” is the name of a new Italian-heritage show WFBL is launching this weekend.  It’ll be hosted by two good friends of the late Armond Magnarelli, who hosted his own local Italian radio show for 17 years.

You read about WFBL’s format flip here on CNYRadio.com back in April (at least one reader thought it was an April Fool’s joke at first).  And this week, the Syracuse New Times picked up on the changes at the Buckley Broadcasting studios in Baldwinsville.

Newsradio 570 WSYR is once again picking up the leave-behinds from WFBL’s abandoned news/talk format. The station is airing promos stating it will begin carrying Laura Ingraham on Sunday afternoons, starting May 4.

When WFBL flips formats from news/talk to oldies on Monday, at least one of its syndicated hosts will remain on the air in Syracuse.  Newsradio 570 WSYR is running on-air promos stating it will begin carrying “The Savage Nation” with Michael Savage on Monday evening.
