LOWVILLE — You probably don’t hear about the Lewis County Fair unless you actually live in Lewis County, but this year’s fair managed to attract many country music fans, along with Watertown’s leading radio station, Froggy 97 (WFRY).

WATERTOWN — Co-workers, listeners and other friends recently gathered for a benefit for the family of Bud “Green” Yeman.  The Froggy 97 (WFRY) afternoon driver lost two daughters and a soon-to-be-born grandchild during a Memorial Day weekend crash that also claimed two other lives.

WATERTOWN — We’re very sad to have learned two of the four people killed in a car accident in Jefferson County on Saturday night were daughters of Bud “Green” Yeman, the afternoon personality at Froggy 97 (WFRY).  One of the young women was due to give birth next month.

WATERTOWN — Like it or not, there’s no denying the success of Fox TV’s American Idol, currently running in its 8th season.  And as long as the show does well, so do many regional efforts that mimic the show — including the current “North Country Idol” contest sponsored by Froggy 97 (WFRY).

It’s our first POTW from Watertown! There’s no joke at these pumps — with gas prices skyrocketing, Watertown’s Froggy 97 invoked a tried and true tactic to earn big brownie points with listeners earlier this month.
