WRVO Swaps Environmental Reports

OSWEGO -- The Environment Report which airs weekday mornings on WRVO will be going away soon. "Due to a lack of sustainable funding," the station explains Friday, June 4 will be the final day for the daily reports. However, WRVO's newsroom says it's not completely abandoning environmental issues.

Syracuse Sportscaster Red Parton Dies

SYRACUSE -- Longtime sportscaster Claude "Red" Parton has died, according to a report from ABC affiliate NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV).  Parton's career spanned more than six decades, starting with WSYR in 1939.  He'd eventually work at a number of other radio stations before moving into television.
