SYRACUSE — Galaxy Communications says acclaimed blues musician Kenny Wayne Shepherd will headline next month’s “Blues, Brews and BBQ” hosted by classic rocker TK99/TK105 (WTKV/WTKW). Organizers have also announced the rest of the lineup, along with ticketing information.

SYRACUSE — Citadel Broadcasting is looking for a part-time assistant to help with continuity.  The job includes a wide variety of duties, 10 hours a week, Monday-Friday, according to a job posting recently listed online.

SYRACUSE — The folks in the WOLF Radio, Inc. building on West Kirkpatrick Street have fired another salvo across Onondaga Creek to the Clear Channel cluster on Plum Street.  This time, they’re taking DJ S-1 from the Hot 107.9 (WWHT) air staff and adding him to the roster at MOViN’ 100.3 (WMVN).

CAZENOVIA — The radio broadcasting class at Cazenovia High School has announced the lineup for a fundraising concert on April 10th. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the school’s newly formed Communications Scholarship.

SYRACUSE — Jason Benetti is the new primary play-by-play radio announcer for the 2010 season of Syracuse Chiefs baseball action.  The team also recently announced it has renewed its deal to have the games broadcast on Clear Channel’s Sportsradio 620 WHEN.  And the broadcast team will have some special guests to celebrate the Chiefs’ 50th

SYRACUSE — Two more pro sports adds to the lineup at The New ESPN Radio (WTLA/WSGO).  The stations, which include the two AMs and two FM translators (97.7 and 100.1) will be carrying all Boston Red Sox games this season, as well as The Masters Tournament.

PITTSBURGH — Former WRVO and WSYR news staffer Maria Leaf was among an unknown number of cuts at the CBS Radio cluster in Pittsburgh on Friday.  Leaf had been working at news/talker KDKA since 2007.  Leaf’s putting out the word that she’s looking for her next opportunity.
