BUFFALO -- Former WIXT reporter Mylous Hairston is generating plenty of headlines in Buffalo. After 20 years at CBS affiliate WIVB-TV, Hairston suddenly walked off the job last week, complaining of working conditions "in the media field." And this week, there's word he could be in the running for a spokesman job at Buffalo City Hall.

CENTRAL NEW YORK -- If you've been away for awhile, CNYRadio.com is celebrating it's 10th anniversary this week.  The site went live on March 1, 2001... and we've been running a series of special articles this week to mark the occasion.  Today, we finish up the series with our reflections and yours, on ten years of CNYRadio.com.

UTICA/ROME -- Some slight confusion between two stations on adjacent frequencies has caused Arbitron to revise its audience estimates for the Utica-Rome market.  The revisions, due out Tuesday at 10:00am, are expected to result in higher numbers for adult standards B95.5/WUTQ/WADR.

SYRACUSE -- One CNYRadio.com reader noticed our recent request for more "classic" shots.  Nick Caplan -- or "Sick Nick" as he was known on WOLF 1490 back in the day -- sent in a pair of pictures.  One from then, and one from now.

CENTRAL NEW YORK -- All this week we're celebrating the 10th anniversary of CNYRadio.com with a series of special reports.  Yesterday, several folks who've been in local radio for 10+ years explained why they feel consolidation was "the" biggest story from the past decade.  Despite the negative side of consolidation, most radio pros are optimistic for what's ahead.  Today, we share their predictions for the next ten years.

CNYRadio.com launched ten years ago -- March 1, 2001.   To mark the anniversary, we reached out to dozens of local radio personalities and managers. We sent out a series of questions, figuring it would be interesting to see which ones get responses. And one question certainly did -- when we asked people to name THE biggest story from radio over the past decade, one common theme was mentioned: consolidation.

SYRACUSE -- One local radio company was specifically mentioned during Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney's State of the County address last night.  Galaxy Communications received applause for helping 2010-2011 become "the most successful year on record" for the annual "Lights on the Lake" at Onondaga Lake Park.

SYRACUSE -- It was March 1, 2001 -- exactly ten years ago today -- that CNYRadio.com was born. Today, we begin a series of articles to mark the occasion.   To get things started, we thought it would be fun to follow-up on the site's very first story from a decade ago: internet rumors that 93Q's Rick Roberts was dating Britney Spears.   Obviously the rumors weren't true -- but to this day, parts of the story remain a mystery to Roberts and his co-workers.

SYRACUSE -- NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV) chief meteorologist Dave Longley made a surprising announcement about his personal health on tonight's newscasts: he's been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.  His story is the basis for a report called "Living with MS," which aired on the ABC affiliate this evening.
