SYRACUSE/UTICA -- Once again, the first Monday in November means the beginning of 24/7 Christmas music on the radio in Central New York. As of midnight, Galaxy Syracuse AC Sunny 102 (WZUN) and Utica-Rome Hot AC Mix 102.5 (WUMX) started playing holiday hits.
SYRACUSE -- Nationwide industry magazine Radio Ink says Mimi Griswold is one of the top 10 programmers in radio. That's according to the magazine's October 19th edition. SAN ANTONIO -- Randall Mays is no longer President and CFO of CC Media Holdings, according to a document filed this morning with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Randall's brother Mark, the company's CEO, is now also serving as interim CFO until a permanent replacement is named.
SYRACUSE -- According to AllAccess, the new CNY Talk Radio (WFBL) is among four new affiliates of The Money Pit. The home improvement show, hosted by Tom Kraeutler and Leslie Segrete, airs on the weekend lineup. On a side note, still nothing to see at www.cnytalkradio.com but if you dial up the former website at wfbl.com, you'll be redirected to the station's Twitter feed.
UTICA-ROME -- Starting today, you'll begin to hear some familiar voices from the past on Regent mainstream AC Lite 98.7 (WLZW). Some former personalities will be appearing on the airwaves as the station nears it's 20th anniversary in late November.
WATERTOWN -- Plenty of big fundraisers in the North Country this fall... in the past month, Stephens Media Group's country powerhouse Froggy 97 (WFRY) has helped with a handful, including two just this week alone.
SYRACUSE -- The WRVO Stations have announced plans today to host a debate among the three primary candidates running for Syracuse Mayor this fall. The debate will air next Friday and Saturday, but you can attend the "live-to-tape" event next Thursday at the Everson Museum in Syracuse.

SYRACUSE -- Earlier this week, we were told the new CNY Talk Radio (WFBL) would have an hour of local programming with a host "to be announced." Now, we know who that host will be: Jon Alvarez, who some may remember as a frequent guest on the Bill Colley Show, during WFBL's previous incarnation as a talk station.
