SYRACUSE -- Even if you're not a big fan of public TV, chances are good you've heard one way or another that WCNY-TV's big televised auction, "TelAuc" for short, has been going on the past few weekends.  And throughout the auctions, some local radio personalities have stopped in to help drum up support.

SYRACUSE -- They filled in once last summer -- and now, it looks like 93Q (WNTQ) morning duo Ted & Amy will be getting much more face time in front of the cameras on WSYR-TV's Bridge Street, starting tomorrow morning.

Updated 5/6 at 8:30pm - SYRACUSE -- There was no programming on 105.1 by the end of Tuesday, as we were originally led to believe, but we have official confirmation that the station will simulcast WVOA's "Love Radio" format when it returns to the airwaves.

SYRACUSE -- We all knew it would happen sooner or later -- Nova 105.1 (WWDG) and its "90s and now" format are gone from the local airwaves.  The station signed off the air this afternoon and now sits silent, waiting for its new owner to take control.

SYRACUSE -- They're competitors on the radio -- battling for the same pool of listeners and advertising dollars.  But off-air, you won't see a re-enactment of the fight scene from Anchorman.  Instead, you're more likely to catch these guys huddling up to smile for the camera.

UPDATED 4/28 at 11:00pm: SYRACUSE -- Clear Channel carried out its second round of massive layoffs of the year today -- eliminating 590 jobs on top of the 1,800 let go on January 20th.  Multiple sources concur one PD has been laid off in Syracuse, a former Ithaca radio journalist was cut in Albany, a former Utica sports talk host loses his job in Houston, and a Senior VP with ties to Central New York was cut at corporate HQ.

Could you imagine "flying blind" as a programmer or a seller without any ratings information on your own station?  That scenario could soon be a reality for many Clear Channel clusters, according to AllAccess.com.

SYRACUSE -- Citadel's 93Q (WNTQ) might not be taking part in Balloonfest this year, but they've still got plans for a major concert, with former American Idol finalist Elliot Yamin and four other national recording artists.

ITHACA -- Not only does she teach broadcasting to college students, she's still actively in the business, too.  Chris Xaver is among the "20 Outstanding Women You Should Know," being honored next month during Womens Expo 2009 in Dryden.

SYRACUSE -- In rather public fashion, Mike Lindsley has apparently resigned from Sportsradio 620 WHEN after learning his Yankees-themed talk show Pinstripe Passion was "pulled" from the lineup.
