Former WHEN talk host runs for president

Gary Nolan, a local talk show host for 62 WHEN during the early '90s, is making a run for president as a Libertarian.

William LaRue of the Syracuse Post-Standard has more on the former Republican who switched party alliances in part because of discussions he had with Libertarians on his Syracuse radio show.

95X charity auction this weekend

It's that time of year again. Dick's Sporting Goods in Clay is the location of this weekend's 95X (WAQX) Rock Auction to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

This year's roster of items up for bid includes a Carmello Anthony autographed lithograph, a Stonesour guitar, and a BeetleJuice (the Stern show regular) DVD. Listeners can bid online all week or at Dick's this Friday through Sunday.

Last year's event raised nearly $17,000.

Dave Bullard joins WSYR's news staff

After a 15-year break from radio, former 62 WHEN newsman Dave Bullard has joined the news staff at 570 WSYR, handling midday anchor duties during the week.

Bullard, who also worked for WTVH TV 5 and has been the managing editor for online daily local news sites for Fulton, Oswego, and Baldwinsville, says, "After five years of small business ownership, it's time to begin socking a few bucks away for my 9th grader's college education."

'Big Mike' releases ninth holiday CD

Sunny 102 (WZUN) morning man 'Big Mike' Fiss has once again put together a holiday CD featuring local talent, but this year's offering has a twist. Instead of relying on his standard crop of local artists, Fiss decided to turn to area teens.

Big Mike's Christmastime in Syracuse Volume 9... Our Schools brings together 17 area high school choruses and the Colgate 13 from Colgate University, who, beginning in October, gathered at Music Mania in Baldwinsville to record 18 songs, everything from "Amazing Grace" to "Santa Baby."

New Rock 105 changes its roster

New Rock 105 (WWDG) has tweaked its on-air lineup resulting in more local talent at 'The Dog'.

Scorch, who looks to have moved from the dog house back to The Dog's house, returns to his afternoon slot, while the station's program director, Erin Bristol, slides over from sister station Hot 107-9 (WWHT) to replace out of town voicetracker Laura Steele on middays. And Paulie takes over evenings from Chad Ericson who had also been piping in his show from outside the market.
