Reggie Jordan returns to Clear Channel

Former market manager for Citadel Syracuse, Reggie Jordan, is on the move again, this time to Virginia where he's been named vice president and market manager for four Clear Channel stations in Norfolk.

Jordan, who worked in Syracuse for just over a year, left Central New York in November 2002 to head up Citadel's cluster in Charlestown, South Carolina. He previously worked for Clear Channel in Richmond, Viriginia before coming to Syracuse.

WRVO fund drive raises $109,000

The WRVO stations' week-long fall membership campaign netted the Oswego-based public radio outlet $109,000, besting last fall's total.

Listener support coordinator Matt Seubert was pleased with the outcome. "Given the state of the economy we are thrilled by the generous response of the community to our intelligent and informative programming."

Member contributions make up the largest portion of WRVO

Dean Rubin to address press club

Syracuse University Dean David Rubin will address the Syracuse Press Club at its monthly 'First Wednesdays' luncheon on Nov. 5.

Rubin will analyze media coverage of next week's election and offer some perspective on his Syracuse Post-Standard op-ed piece criticizing 570 WSYR's coverage of the summer blackout.

The luncheon gets underway at the Museum of Science and Technology at noon.

Alexis named new 95X program director

95X has a new program director, and like the other rock stations in town, it's a lady that's running the show. Alexis, a 13-year veteran of the active rock station, slides into the slot left vacant by Bob O'Dell's exit in August. She also picks up the 3-7 p.m. afternoon drive on-air shift.

B104.7: Best Syracuse ratings since 1990

B104.7 (WBBS) not only earned its highest ratings in its 10-year history as a country station, but it bested all other Syracuse stations since 1990 when Y94FM (WYYY) scored a 12.8.

Arbitron: Country is king in Syracuse

B104.7 (WBBS), Syracuse's long-running radio ratings champ, took a commanding lead in the latest numbers released by Arbitron.

B104.7 garnered a 12.4, which gives the country station a comfortable lead of 5.2 ratings points over 93Q (WNTQ) which barely held on to second place.

Traditional country isn't doing too badly either; WSCP AM/FM doubled its audience and moved from 16th to 10th in the market with a 3.2 rating.

Doug Logan resigns from WIXT

Doug Logan has been sports director at WIXT TV 9 since 1984. All that is about to change.

The veteran Syracuse broadcaster announced yesterday that he is leaving the station to pursue other interests. Although he wasn't specific as to what those interests might be, Logan did say he wasn't going away for good.

In addition to his work in television, Logan served as the play-by-play 'Voice of the Orange' for Syracuse University football and basketball for 19 years on 570 WSYR and will continue his work at WSYR.

93Q (WNTQ) and its morning show hosted by Ted Long and Amy Robbins have garnered top spots in the Syracuse New Times' annual readers' poll.

Ted & Amy picked up best local personalities and best local radio show honors, while 93Q topped K-Rock (WKRL/WRKH) and TK-99/105 (WTKW/WTKV) as best station as picked by New Times readers.

Women's Voices Radio wins award

The Association for Women in Communications has awarded Women's Voices Radio its Clarion Award as the best radio series for women's issues.

The locally-produced weekly show, hosted by Mary Stanley, airs at 8 p.m. Thursdays on Jazz 88 (WAER).
