WSYR Extends Lonsberry Show to Three Hours

SYRACUSE -- Two weeks after Bob Lonsberry took over afternoons at FM Newsradio 106.9 and 570 WSYR, his show has been extended by an extra hour.  The Rochester-based host still takes to the airwaves at 3pm, but as of today, his show runs until 6pm rather than 5pm.

105.9 The Rebel Hires Dave Frisina

SYRACUSE -- Recently-unemployed rock jock Dave Frisina and his show "Soundcheck" will be back on the radio again within a few weeks. Today, Cumulus Media announced Frisina will be joining 105.9 The Rebel (WXTL). Cumulus ditched "The Big Talker" to launch the classic rock format earlier this month, not long after Frisina was suddenly dismissed from his old job at Galaxy classic rocker TK99/105 (WTKW/WTKV).

High School Sports Talk Show Expands

SYRACUSE -- From the "better late than never" file, those who follow high school sports closely may be pleased to know Mike Bristol's weekly "Inside High School Sports" show has recently expanded from one hour to two.  That's the word from an article on syracuse.com today.  Author Pat Spadafora says he'll be filling in for Bristol this week.  The show airs Saturdays from 9-11am on ESPN Radio 97.7 and 100.1 FM. (Also 1200AM WTLA/Syracuse and 1440AM WSGO/Oswego.)

ESPN Radio CNY Trades Red Sox for Mets

Updated 1/18 -- SYRACUSE -- Does the Syracuse area have more Boston Red Sox fans or more New York Mets fans?  After carrying Sox baseball last season, ESPN Radio 97.7/100.1 (WTLA/WSGO) is now hedging its bets with Mets fans.  The station announced on Friday that it'll be Syracuse's radio home for the New York Mets this coming season.
