SYRACUSE -- Aside from an intense, soaking rain storm that moved along very quickly, it looks like it was a great time for everyone who took part in the 7th annual Bill Leaf Kickball Tournament, on September 22 in Liverpool.
SYRACUSE -- A handful of former Clear Channel Syracuse employees (mostly from WSYR radio) gathered for an impromptu "reunion" on New Year's Eve. We'll borrow a phrase commonly used by one of the attendees to say the gathering took place at "an undisclosed location" within Onondaga County.
UPDATED (1:05PM) - The 2008 New York State Broadcasters Association "Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting" have been unveiled. We now have a complete list of winners, and they include stations in all four markets we cover... for a total of 11 radio awards, and at least 2 TV awards for former radio reporters.
The 3rd annual Bill Leaf Kickball Tournament was held at Onondaga Lake Park on May 17th. The event is a fundraiser for a scholarship named in memory of the WSYR News reporter who was killed by a drunk driver in 2006. (Updated at 1:50pm with complete photo caption.)
