SYRACUSE -- Citadel sports-talker The Score 1260 (WSKO) launched a brand new show earlier this evening, giving Syracuse Orange football fans a chance to track the team's preparations for the upcoming season. SU Football Training Camp Tonight will continue to air every weeknight at 6pm through the end of August.
Updated 8/2 - SUNNYVALE, CA -- Over 180 "Sporting News Radio" affiliates across the country, including Syracuse's The Score 1260 (WSKO) are now affiliates of "Yahoo! Sports Radio." The rebranding was announced this morning and took effect immediately. But in Central New York, the changes might not be too noticeable.
SYRACUSE -- After a variety of hosts have shared fill-in duties following the departure of Danny Parkins, we've learned Mike Lindsley will be taking over as permanent host for the midday show at sports-talk The Score 1260 (WSKO). He'll officially begin as host on May 2.

SYRACUSE -- It's not necessarily all broadcasting related, but at least two local media outlets will be in attendance for an upcoming career fair hosted by the Syracuse Crunch. The Crunch and several other professional teams from all over upstate New York will be on hand to discuss job openings within their organizations.
Updated 11:20am - ATLANTA -- After three weeks of "exclusive merger negotiations" between Citadel and Cumulus, the latter (and larger) of the two companies announced this morning that the deal is done. Cumulus Media will acquire Citadel Broadcasting, the owner of 225 stations, including four in Syracuse.

LAS VEGAS, NV -- Citadel Broadcasting, the owner of four Syracuse market radio stations, announced Thursday that it is holding "exclusive negotiations for a potential merger with Cumulus Media Inc." Cumulus, the second-largest radio operator in the nation, confirmed the news today.
SYRACUSE -- There will be a new radio home for minor league baseball's Syracuse Chiefs this season: The Score 1260 (WSKO). The news was just announced this afternoon during On the Block with Brent Axe. Jason Benetti, who called the games last year, will return for his second season behind the mic.
SYRACUSE -- A lingering question for Syracuse Crunch fans has been answered: the AHL team has named its new play-by-play announcer. He's Jason Lockhart, a 27-year-old who previously called games in the ECHL, and worked three seasons before that with the NHL's New York Islanders.
