SYRACUSE -- After just one season with the Syracuse Crunch, broadcaster Joe Brown has is no longer listed among the staff of the AHL club. There's no word yet on who will be providing play-by-play for the team this coming season, but thankfully, the team has plenty of time to make that decision.
SYRACUSE -- Longtime local radio personality and Syracuse University associate broadcasting professor Dr. Roosevelt "Rick" Wright says radio is "at a fork in the road," reflecting on the many recent format changes in the market. He also calls out larger corporate owners for buying too many "overvalued" stations too quickly, racking up painful debt.
LAS VEGAS -- Citadel Broadcasting, the owner of more than 200 radio stations including four in Syracuse, has emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. According to one published report, Citadel Chairman and CEO Farid Suleman said, "we're glad it's over and we can get on with running the company."
SYRACUSE -- Another locally-produced show has been added to the lineup at The Score 1260 (WSKO). The addition of Danny Parkins will give the Citadel station eight solid hours of local sports talk every weekday, starting on Tuesday. Updated 2:55pm with additional information from Citadel.
