SYRACUSE — Stories in the national trades report a big shakeup at syndicated talk host Michael Smerconish’s home station in Philadelphia — starting in 2011, he’ll be on the air from 3-7pm there.  But, his midday talk show will still air live from noon to 3pm, of which the first two hours are carried locally

SYRACUSE — There’s good news for fans of Celtic rock: the producers of The Irish Power Hour say they’ve renewed their contract to keep the Sunday night show running on 105.9 The Big Talker (WXTL) for at least another year. Co-host Cabrina Gilbert tells CNYRadio.com she’s “excited and yet a ‘lil scared” about the renewal.

SYRACUSE — Before Stephanie Miller and Bill Press met up in Ithaca for an appearance geared toward listeners of that market’s WNYY… Miller hosted her nationally-syndicated show live from the studios of Syracuse affiliate 105.9 The Big Talker (WXTL) on Friday.

SYRACUSE — Fans of computer whiz Kim Komando’s weekend talk show will have to flip the dial from AM to FM starting this weekend. They’ll also get to sleep in a bit later. She’s moving from Leatherstocking’s trio of “CNY Talk Radio” stations over Citadel’s 105.9FM The Big Talker (WXTL).

INDIANAPOLIS — First they were on the radio, then they were also on cable TV. Now, the nationally-synduicated Bob & Tom Show, carried locally in Syracuse and Watertown, and formerly in Utica, is back to being a radio-only show.

LAS VEGAS — Citadel Broadcasting, the owner of more than 200 radio stations including four in Syracuse, has emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.  According to one published report, Citadel Chairman and CEO Farid Suleman said, “we’re glad it’s over and we can get on with running the company.”

SYRACUSE — A little over two years (and four days, to be exact) after it was announced Citadel named Dan Austin as GM of the company’s four-station Syracuse cluster, Austin is on the move once again.  This time, he’s headed to market #13: Seattle-Tacoma, Washington.

SYRACUSE — Citadel Broadcasting is looking for a part-time assistant to help with continuity.  The job includes a wide variety of duties, 10 hours a week, Monday-Friday, according to a job posting recently listed online.
