SYRACUSE — Public broadcaster WCNY has announced a total of four job openings at its new facilities in the Near West Side neighborhood of Syracuse.  The jobs include a program director for WCNY-FM, two positions in the television joint master control facility based at WCNY, and an account executive.

SYRACUSE — The Storm Team at NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV) will return to “full strength” by the end of the month.  Kate Thornton will be moving up I-81 from Binghamton to handle the ABC affiliate’s weekend newscasts and to fill-in on other newscasts as needed.

WEST PALM BEACH, FL — Former WSTM news director Cathy Younkin is “on the beach” after more than four years running the newsroom at the CBS affiliate in the country’s 38th largest television market.  And one report says her departure from WPEC channel 12 was not of her own choosing.

SYRACUSE — While many of us see a new year as a clean slate, a New Year’s Eve transmitter outage at CBS5 (WTVH) will continue “for several days” into 2014, the station announced today.  Until the main 5.1 transmitter returns to service, over-the-air viewers can catch CBS programming on WSTM digital subchannel 3.3.
