Five acts announced for 93Q's "Summer Jam" 2013

Galaxy Communications expected to renew deal with Syracuse University

SYRACUSE -- While it's not officially a "done deal" yet, Galaxy Communications is reportedly expected to hold onto the radio rights for Syracuse University football, basketball and lacrosse for at least another five years.  Both sides have spoken favorably about each other, and it appears an official deal could be announced sometime this week.

Bill Worden to receive Syracuse Press Club Career Achievement Award

UTICA -- Although Bill Worden received plenty of accolades during his final newscast prior to retiring from NewsChannel 2 (WKTV) last November, there's still at least one more on the way. Worden, who was the NBC affiliate's primary anchor for 35 years, will recieve the Syracuse Press Club's Career Achievement Award next weekend.

SYRACUSE -- NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV) anchor Tanja Babich said she's "living the dream," speaking at the podium during a naturalization ceremony in Syracuse today.  Babich was there because she was one of 38 people to become U.S. citizens during the ceremony.

UTICA-ROME -- Congratulations to Kiss-FM (WSKS/WSKU) middayer and program director Shaun Andrews, who marks his 15th anniversary with the CHR-formatted station today.  Andrews says he was just 17 years old when he walked into the station for the first time, back when Kiss was on-air at 102.5FM, while the station's present-day 97.9 and 105.5 frequencies were "the competition," as Wow-FM.
