SYRACUSE -- Hopefully you remembered today's date before turning on the radio this morning. Otherwise, you may wondered why 93Q (WNTQ) morning hosts Ted and Amy devoted much of their show today to exposing the potential "hazards" of a substance known as DHMO.
SYRACUSE -- Mark your calendars for September 7. That's the date for the 8th annual Bill Leaf Memorial Kickball Tournament. Along with the new date (it's usually been held later in September), the tournament will have a new home this year, a few miles away from the original location.
SYRACUSE -- Former local radio and television talk show host Jim Reith has a new job. He won't be working for any local media outlets, but chances are good you'll see or hear from him in the news. He's been hired for public relations for Onondaga County's Save the Rain program.
SYRACUSE -- When WCNY-TV's TelAuc hits the air in April, it'll be the very first time the annual fundraiser originates from WCNY's new facilities on Syracuse's Near Westside. That's according to a press release which appeared on WCNY's website.
SYRACUSE -- Yesterday, we reported that the Syracuse Chiefs have a new radio partner: the Internet. It's definitely a notable break from the many years fans could hear the hometown team on traditional broadcast radio. Even though he knew people would be critical, the team's GM tells CNYRadio.com there were plenty of factors behind the decision.
SYRACUSE -- For decades, baseball fans have enjoyed hearing their favorite teams on the radio. But this year, an ordinary radio won't cut it for Syracuse Chiefs fans. Today, the team announced it's bypassing radio altogether, streaming all of its games exclusively via the internet.

SYRACUSE -- Less than a week after a crosstown competitor released a song about the Syracuse University men's basketball team, morning hosts Gomez and Dave from TK99/TK105 (WTKW/WTKV) and 96.9 WOUR have their own. They debuted the song this morning on their show, which simulcasts in Syracuse and Utica.
Updated 3/27 with new details throughout -- SYRACUSE -- Good news for viewers who watch CBS5 (WTVH) over-the-air with an antenna. The station's transmitter returned to service today, following a transmitter failure that took the station off-the-air near the end of a close NCAA men's basketball tournament game on Sunday.
ITHACA -- On the heels of this week's release of a book about the history of TV in Syracuse -- aptly titled "Syracuse Television" -- work is underway for another book about local broadcast history. This time, Ithaca radio will be in the spotlight and the authors are asking for help in the way of photos, memories and other items.
