SYRACUSE -- For decades, baseball fans have enjoyed hearing their favorite teams on the radio. But this year, an ordinary radio won't cut it for Syracuse Chiefs fans. Today, the team announced it's bypassing radio altogether, streaming all of its games exclusively via the internet.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Are you ready for Syracuse's "Sweet 16" game against Indiana tonight?  We usually hold "Picture of the Week" until Friday, but given that this week's photo has to do with the media frenzy surrounding tonight's game, we decided to move the feature up by a day this week.

SYRACUSE -- Less than a week after a crosstown competitor released a song about the Syracuse University men's basketball team, morning hosts Gomez and Dave from TK99/TK105 (WTKW/WTKV) and 96.9 WOUR have their own. They debuted the song this morning on their show, which simulcasts in Syracuse and Utica.

Updated 3/27  with new details throughout -- SYRACUSE -- Good news for viewers who watch CBS5 (WTVH) over-the-air with an antenna.  The station's transmitter returned to service today, following a transmitter failure that took the station off-the-air near the end of a close NCAA men's basketball tournament game on Sunday.

ITHACA -- On the heels of this week's release of a book about the history of TV in Syracuse -- aptly titled "Syracuse Television" -- work is underway for another book about local broadcast history.  This time, Ithaca radio will be in the spotlight and the authors are asking for help in the way of photos, memories and other items.

SYRACUSE -- After more than a decade in local sports talk radio, today is Mike Lindsley's last day in Syracuse. Starting tomorrow, The Score 1260 (WSKO) will lose a few hours of local weekday sports talk, as the station plugs-in syndicated talent Doug Gottlieb.

ITHACA -- The Cayuga Radio Group, owned by Saga Communications, has a job opening for a "Digital/Interactive Coordinator/Web and Graphic Design" person.  The full description, as provided by the cluster, is as follows:

SYRACUSE -- There's a new addition to the weekend lineup at MOViN 100.3/96/5 (WMVN).  Last night was the station's first as an affiliate of the syndicated "Sunday Nite Slow Jams with R Dub!" show.

Updated 3/25 at 5:00pm -- WTVH transmitter still out, programming remains available on WSTM 3.3 over-the-air.  SYRACUSE -- Many local viewers are voicing their frustration tonight, as CNY Central says it's "having problems" with the CBS5 (WTVH) transmitter.  While susbcribers of Time Warner Cable and Verizon FiOS are unaffected, there's no CBS programming tonight for viewers who watch over-the-air or via Dish Network.

SYRACUSE -- The crew at the syndicated "Bob and Tom" morning show, heard locally on Cumulus Media's 105.9 The Rebel (WXTL), has produced a song to cheer on the Syracuse Orange as they continue to advance through the NCAA men's basketball tournament.
