Former Channel 9 Reporter to Guest Anchor on Channel 3

SYRACUSE -- Today and tomorrow will be the last two days you'll have a chance to catch Anthony Adornato in his old seat behind the anchor desk on Today in Central New York on NBC3 (WSTM).  He agreed to fill-in alongside Lisa Spitz for the first two weeks of regular anchor Megan Coleman's maternity leave (as reported here earlier, she had a son, Harry, over the weekend).  With his time almost up, viewers are wondering... who's next?  Last night, the station revealed another former local TV journalist will be helping out.

Community Leader Mary Nelson to Host New Show on Power 620

SYRACUSE -- Mary Nelson, a community leader who oversees a local youth community center named in her honor, will be hosting a weekly show on Power 620 (WHEN) starting this weekend.  Nelson first made headlines ten years ago, when she organized a massive "Youth Day Barbecue" collection drive to provide school supplies for the city's less fortunate children.

Syracuse Crunch Broadcaster Lockhart Leaving Team

SYRACUSE -- As the Syracuse Crunch's playoff bid ended on Friday at the hands of the Ice Caps in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, so did Jason Lockhart's two-season run as the AHL team's broadcaster.  Next season, Lockhart will be on the west coast, calling games for a different team in a different league.

Arbitron Releases Syracuse Winter 2012 Ratings

SYRACUSE -- Clear Channel country station B104.7 (WBBS) continues to dominate the Syracuse radio market, according to the latest data released by Arbitron.  It's the first time in nearly four years that the radio ratings giant has released any Syracuse ratings data to the media and the general public, but the information comes with a pretty big disclaimer.

FCC Ruling Allows TV Stations to Share Same Channel

WASHINGTON, DC -- For years, the FCC has allowed television stations to reduce operating expenses by forming duopolies or other agreements where multiple stations are operated under one roof.  We have examples of this here in Syracuse and Utica.  And soon, there could be another chance to save more money: the FCC has announced a policy which would allow TV stations to share the bandwidth of a single digital channel.
