CLEVELAND, OH -- Tony Gaskins, who worked in Syracuse at channel 9 and WSYR radio throughout most of the 1980s, has died. Family members say Gaskins passed following an apparent heart attack on Tuesday. The Emmy-award winning reporter, known for his deep voice and unique sign-off, was 56 years old.
SYRACUSE -- Condolences to the family and friends of Ruth Coleman Kegel, a former Executive Secretary to the General Manager at WSTM-TV. Kegel -- who was still Ruth Coleman during her time at WSTM -- passed away earlier this week.
AUBURN -- Former WAUB 1590 owner Richard "Dick" Morgan has died. Although Morgan owned the station for only a few years in the 1990s, he spent more than 30 years working at the station, starting out as an announcer.

UTICA-ROME -- Longtime Mohawk Valley residents might remember him as a car salesman who appeared from a high perch in TV ads, or as a radio personality on a number of local stations. Frank McBride, who most recently worked at 92.7 The Drive (WXUR) has passed away at the age of 54.
ITHACA -- Longtime WHCU talk radio host and former GM Don Martin died on Monday near Seattle, WA. He was 88 years old. An Air Force veteran who served during World War II, Martin joined the station in 1947. He retired in 1979, but continued hosting his "Column Comment" feature for many years afterward.
