SYRACUSE -- Unless you've got access to the full Arbitron Spring 2012 ratings report for Syracuse, it can be difficult to tell where the area's radio stations stacked up against each other.  The numbers released to the public today include only 8 of the market's more than 30 stations.

SYRACUSE -- For the first time in almost 40 years, the National Football League is relaxing its TV blackout policy. But Buffalo Bills fans in Syracuse and Utica won't notice anything different: the Bills announced today that they won't be exercising a new option to reduce the team's "blackout threshold."

OSWEGO -- Just shy of three years since leaving WRVO, Tom Herbert has rejoined the NPR affiliate's underwriting sales team. Since leaving WRVO in 2009, Herbert had been working in a similar role for the Mars Hill Christian Radio Network, which is headquartered in Syracuse.

SYRACUSE -- Jason Benetti logs most of his on-air hours as play-by-play announcer for the Syracuse Chiefs. If you're not a baseball fan, you might know his name from televised local high-school and college sports. SYRACUSE -- After nearly 26 years of hosting Sunday Night Blues for WAER 88.3FM, local blues musician Tom Townsley has just four shows left. Townsley has a new job lined up, so his last show for WAER will be July 29.

SYRACUSE -- From the "better late than never" file, former Clear Channel digital marketing director Julie MacConnell has a new job. While she's no longer working in broadcasting, it appears her new role will keep her in regular contact with local media outlets.
