WRVO Hauls and TV Falls at New York AP Awards

SARATOGA -- With nine first-place awards, Oswego-based NPR affiliate WRVO was the big winner among radio stations -- both locally and statewide -- at the New York State Associated Press Broadcast Association Awards over the weekend.  On the other hand, all but two of the nominations for local TV stations did not materialize into first-place awards.

Stone Temple Pilots to Headline KRockathon 16 (2011)

Updated 8:30pm with KRock Press Release -  SYRACUSE -- Stone Temple Pilots will headline KRockathon 16 next month at the New York State Fairgrounds.  The announcement was made this afternoon by Rainman.  Tickets for the July 30 event go on sale this Saturday.  The 13-band lineup includes several other national recording artists like Seether, Bush and Dropkick Murphys.

Now It's Official -- Conte and Miller Move to ESPN Radio

UTICA/ROME -- We had first reported this on May 25, but it was quickly retracted by those involved.  Now, the news is "official" -- Gene Conte and Fred Miller are moving from Townsquare Media's WIBX to Galaxy Communications' trio of ESPN Radio stations.  Conte, who has been serving as PD for WIBX, will become PD of the ESPN trimulcast.  ESPN Radio also picks up Dave Peroni for play-by-play duties.
