SYRACUSE -- The sudden simulcast change on WSEN(AM) yesterday morning is the first step towards a brand new format at 1050 on the AM dial. That's what CNYRadio.com has learned this morning from General Manager Judy Kelly, two days after Leatherstocking Media Group has effectively overtaken the Buckley cluster through an LMA.
SYRACUSE -- Change is already in the air at the Buckley Radio compound in Baldwinsville, just a day after Leatherstocking Media Group's LMA on the cluster went into effect. WSEN AM and FM are no longer simulcasting the same "Classic Hits" format. Instead, WSEN 1050AM is simulcasting WFBL's "Oldies 1390" format.
SYRACUSE (Updated 12:30pm on 3/14) -- Buckley Broadcasting GM Judy Kelly now confirms the dismissal of Diane Wade from Classic Hits 92.1 (WSEN) following her air shift Friday. Kelly says "it's simply a matter of economics" and she hopes conditions improve soon.
SYRACUSE -- Less than a year after he was hired as morning host for the new Oldies 1390 (WFBL), Bob Brown has been removed from the shift, but remains on-staff part-time as a substitute. As you may have expected, station management blames the economic climate.
SYRACUSE -- An observant CNYRadio.com reader points out a new look for the internet home of Buckley's Classic Hits 92.1 (WSEN).
SYRACUSE -- He was best known by his on-air names "Johnny C" and "Johnny Vann." Former WNDR, WOLF and WFBL broadcaster John L. Creveling has died. Memorial services will take place tomorrow in Durham, NC, but an "audio tie-in" will be provided in North Syracuse.

SYRACUSE - Classic FM (WCNY-FM/WUNY/WJNY) is making some programming changes that may leave jazz fans unhappy, as it moves to increase the emphasis on classical music. Hosts Leo Rayhill and Dick Carr are directly impacted by the changes.
SYRACUSE - Nearly a month after Jim Tate was shown the door at WSEN, the other shoe has dropped at the Buckley Broadcasting classic hits station. Sources tell CNYRadio.com overnight jock Spidr Murfee and several part-timers have been terminated.
