SYRACUSE -- From the "better late than never" file, those who follow high school sports closely may be pleased to know Mike Bristol's weekly "Inside High School Sports" show has recently expanded from one hour to two.  That's the word from an article on syracuse.com today.  Author Pat Spadafora says he'll be filling in for Bristol this week.  The show airs Saturdays from 9-11am on ESPN Radio 97.7 and 100.1 FM. (Also 1200AM WTLA/Syracuse and 1440AM WSGO/Oswego.)

SYRACUSE -- There's a new but familiar voice on the night shift at TK99 and TK105 (WTKW/WTKV).  Ryno, who has been doing mornings for Galaxy Communications sister station modern rock KRock (WKRL/WKRH), is pulling double duty as TK's new night jock.  He just made his debut on the classic rocker within the hour.

SYRACUSE -- There are some slight changes to the air talent lineup at MOViN' 100.3/96.5 (WMVN) effective today.  In addition to the previously-reported arrival of Brandon C., the station has revamped other parts of its weekday schedule, including the morning show.

Updated 1/18 -- SYRACUSE -- Does the Syracuse area have more Boston Red Sox fans or more New York Mets fans?  After carrying Sox baseball last season, ESPN Radio 97.7/100.1 (WTLA/WSGO) is now hedging its bets with Mets fans.  The station announced on Friday that it'll be Syracuse's radio home for the New York Mets this coming season.

SYRACUSE -- After a blackout lasting nearly three days, Verizon FiOS TV customers can once again watch NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV) with their set top boxes.  This, after Verizon and WSYR-TV owner Newport Television reached a new retransmission consent agreement late Sunday afternoon.

SYRACUSE -- Six years ago today, friends, family and colleagues gathered for the funeral of broadcast journalist Bill Leaf.  And this morning, Leaf's family has learned Bill's killer, Matthew Benedict, has been denied parole by state officials.  The decision means Benedict -- who could have been released as early as next month -- will remain behind bars for at least two more years.

SYRACUSE -- Public broadcaster WCNY may not have traditional pledge drives anymore, but it still needs to generate revenue. During the six nights of TravelAuc, viewers bid on more than 1,000 getaways to destinations near and far. But everything you see on TravelAuc doesn't just magically appear by itself...

UTICA-ROME -- A few days after Eastlan Ratings released its Fall 2011 audience estimates for the Utica-Rome market, Arbitron has released its own report.  There are some notable differences, but Arbitron has only released a portion of the rankings, so it's difficult to form a complete comparison between the findings of the two companies.
