SYRACUSE -- Clear Channel has announced management structure changes for dozens of markets across the country. According to Radio-Info.com, those changes have Syracuse GM Joel Delmonico becoming the "Regional Market Manager" for Syracuse and Binghamton, while Syracuse OM Rich Lauber is now "Regional Programming Manager" for both markets. Clear Channel owns six stations in each market.
SYRACUSE -- The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) has awarded more than $6.6 million to help execute a previously-announced plan to consolidate master control operations for every PBS affiliate in the state inside the future home of local PBS affiliate WCNY on Syracuse's Near Westside. The new facility is already under construction.
CAZENOVIA -- Former Emmy-award winning NBC News correspondent and current PBS' Religion and Ethics Newsweekly contributor Betty Rollin will be in Central New York on Friday. She's scheduled to discuss "end-of-life choices" at the Catherine Cummings Theatre in Cazenovia. More details from the Cazenovia Republican. Locally, Religion and Ethics Newsweekly airs on WCNY 24.1 on Sundays at 12:30pm, with Monday encores on 24.3 at 7:30am and 1:30pm.
Updated 10:35pm UTICA/ROME -- Oneida County Independence Party chairman and former radio host John Dote has reportedly pleaded guilty on charges that he stole nearly $60,000 in political donations to pay for personal expenses. As punishment, he'll reportedly spend six months in jail and he'll be forced to give up his involvement with politics.
UTICA -- Our congratulations to WKTV anchor Don Shipman, who got married over the weekend. According to the NBC affiliate, Shipman and longtime partner Adam Lawless have been planning their big day for quite awhile -- and New York State's recent legalization of same-sex marriages finally allowed their plans to become a reality.
CNYRadio.com reader Mark Fuller recently wrote to ask, "Does anyone know whats happening with Rome, NY's 1450 AM?" He observes the station has "been silent for months," specifically since May, when Tune In Broadcasting purchased the station from Bible Broadcasting Network. Fuller asks, "what's the sense of buying radio stations only to leave them silent?"
ITHACA -- Two college radio stations in Ithaca will be among hundreds nationwide participating in "College Radio Day" on Tuesday. The plans include airing a special feature program about college radio.

UTICA/ROME -- Ever heard of a radio station called WCML? Well, there's a WCML-FM in Michigan, but we're talking about the one on the AM dial, here in Central New York. Well... if you ask the FCC, it doesn't exist, but the Children's Museum of History, Natural History, Science and Technology in Utica would beg to differ.

In an email to listeners today, Fred Vigeant said "we're in the process of getting a number of items into the new site from the old system," including a number of podcasts.
