SYRACUSE -- 93Q and Hot 107.9 are catching the attention of the local news media, for openly asking listeners if they should consider pulling songs by Chris Brown off their playlists. The 19-year-old star hasn't been charged, but is being investigated for allegedly assaulting girlfriend and fellow star Rihanna.
SYRACUSE -- She disappeared from the station website yesterday, and today management confirms it: longtime 95X (WAQX) middayer Alexis has exited the station.

SYRACUSE - Lite Rock 105.9 (WLTI) has filled the morning drive vacancy created by the dismissal of Dave Allen earlier this year, and it has signed with a syndicated talent for the midday shift.
SYRACUSE - Just a few days after 93Q (WNTQ) spent a week celebrating the 20th anniversary of "Ted & Amy in the Morning," the station has taken longtime midday jock Big Jim Donovan off the air. Management hopes it's a "temporary situation." UPDATE 11/19 - Big Jim doesn't seem to think it's temporary.
Lite Rock 105.9 (WLTI) morning host and program director Dave Allen has exited the station, and Citadel has started the search for a replacement. (Updated at 5:10pm with confirmation from Citadel management.)
An observant CNYRadio.com reader points out that Citadel Broadcasting of Syracuse has several job openings posted on a local job website. Among them: a posting titled "95X Program Director." But the current PD isn't leaving the station.
There can only be one Picture of the Week, but we had two major radio events on the same weekend earlier this month. WFRG's Frogfest won the coin toss to be the POTW last week. This week, it's 93Q Balloonfest at Jamesville Beach Park.
95X has a new program director, and like the other rock stations in town, it's a lady that's running the show. Alexis, a 13-year veteran of the active rock station, slides into the slot left vacant by Bob O'Dell's exit in August. She also picks up the 3-7 p.m. afternoon drive on-air shift.
