SYRACUSE and UTICA -- At least two former Syracuse TV reporters enjoyed victories on election night. Jean Kessner was re-elected to the Syracuse Common Council. Stefan Mychajliw was re-elected as Erie County Comptroller in his hometown of Buffalo. And in Utica, longtime WIBX "Auto Talk" host Ed Welsh was re-elected to the Oneida County Legislature.

SYRACUSE -- Condolences to family, friends and former colleagues of longtime WSTM-TV employee Joseph Turrisi, who died this past weekend at the age of 81.  The lifelong Syracuse resident enjoyed a 46-year career at channel 3, where he held the position of production manager upon his retirement.

Roger Springfield sentence: 5 years probation

SYRACUSE -- Former WSTM-TV sports director Roger Springfield will be on probation for five years, after admitting he secretly videotaped student athletes in locker rooms while working as media director for Syracuse University Athletics. This morning's court sentence allows Springfield to avoid having to register as a sex offender.
