SYRACUSE and UTICA-ROME —  The trio of Modern Rock KRock stations (WKRL North Syracuse/WKRH Minetto/WKLL Frankfort) is giving listeners direct control over the songs played on the stations every Saturday night.  It’s all made possible by an online voting system launched last summer by Triton Media.

SYRACUSE — Even though her old affiliate, Lite Rock 105.9 (WLTI) is now an all-talk station, Delilah’s still on the air in Syracuse.  Listeners who like to “slow down and love someone” with the popular syndicated hostess just need to slide their radios down to Y94FM (WYYY).

SYRACUSE — A number of changes first announced in December finally took place today.  ESPN Radio has changed its Syracuse affiliation over from Citadel’s WSKO (formerly WNSS) 1260 over to a four-station simulcast including two AMs and two FM translators owned by Galaxy. 

SYRACUSE — CNY Talk Radio (WFBL/WMCR-AM) local midday host Jon Alvarez announced on today’s broadcast that he’s ending his show, effective immediately.   Starting Monday, the stations will fill the time with an extra hour of Laura Ingraham until a permanent replacement is named. SYRACUSE — Geographically, they may be closer to Villanova, Pennsylvania, but spiritually, Big D and Bubba were rooting with the 34,616 fans in the Carrier Dome for the Orange to BEAT NOVA last Saturday night.

SYRACUSE — Jamie “Big Smoothie” Hantke is back on the roster at Citadel rocker 95X (WAQX).  You may remember him as the host of “The People’s Show” weekday evenings in the mid 2000s.  Jacobs recently rejoined the lineup for weekend duty: he’s on Saturdays 10a-3p and Sundays 7a-1p.

OSWEGO — Dave Bullard is back on the airwaves as the new Senior News Reporter/Producer at the WRVO Stations.  He posted the news on his Facebook page last week, he started at the NPR affiliate on Monday and his first story aired today.

SYRACUSE and UTICA-ROME — Arbitron continues to embargo the public release of ratings information for these two markets, but the competing Eastlan Ratings service is now sharing its version of the station performance story with the general public.

SYRACUSE — Nationally-known radio personality Kid Kelly will be the keynote speaker as the WJPZ Alumni Association hosts its 25th Annual Birthday Banquet this Saturday at the Syracuse University Sheraton.  The station is expecting about 150 alumni and students in attendance for the event, which will include the second class to be inducted to the

SYRACUSE — Notice anything missing lately from the afternoon drive shift at MOViN 100.3/96.5 (WMVN)?  Yo! Sunny Joe, one of the original members of the air staff when the station launched in 2007, has been told his services are no longer needed.
