SYRACUSE -- After almost a year off the air, low-power analog television station WMBO-LP is back, reports a CNYRadio.com and CNYTVNews.com reader who used to run his own local media website. Since the station is transmitting on analog TV channel 6, the audio can be heard with an ordinary radio at 87.7 FM.

No Local Impact from Smerconish Shuffle in Philly

SYRACUSE -- Stories in the national trades report a big shakeup at syndicated talk host Michael Smerconish's home station in Philadelphia -- starting in 2011, he'll be on the air from 3-7pm there.  But, his midday talk show will still air live from noon to 3pm, of which the first two hours are carried locally by 105.9 The Big Talker (WXTL).

Sinclair Threatens to Pull Fox 68, My 43 off Cable

SYRACUSE -- You probably heard of the well-hyped corporate battle between Fox and Comcast over cable TV carriage... but since Comcast doesn't operate here, you probably didn't care that much.  But now, there's a corporate battle that could upset local cable television customers when the new year rings in: Sinclair Broadcast Group is threatening to pull Fox 68 (WSYT) and My 43 (WNYS) off the air, if it and Time Warner Cable don't reach an agreement to renew carriage rights by December 31.

Irish Power Hour Renewed; Producers Ready for Battle

SYRACUSE -- There's good news for fans of Celtic rock: the producers of The Irish Power Hour say they've renewed their contract to keep the Sunday night show running on 105.9 The Big Talker (WXTL) for at least another year.
