NEW YORK CITY -- Effective today, ABC Radio Networks is history. Owner Citadel Broadcasting, who acquired the network and 22 radio stations from Disney in 2007, has renamed the network "Citadel Media."
CALIFORNIA -- If former WNDR/WFBL/WTLB/WJMK jock Peter Cavanaugh's 2002 book Local DJ was a film, you might say most of his memories of Syracuse were lost "on the cutting room floor" ... until now. Cavanaugh tells us the original, uncut Syracuse section he wrote is now available online, free of charge.
UTICA-ROME -- Regent's Big Frog 104 (WFRG) is looking for local music groups to perform at its annual Frogfest concert. The 21st installment of the free listener appreciation bash will be June 20 at Verona Beach State Park. Interested bands can find details on the station's website. No word yet on the headliners.

SYRACUSE -- With the Syracuse University mens basketball team reaching the "Sweet 16" of the NCAA Tournament, you could say there's a wave of "Orange Fever" passing over the Salt City. The morning team at MOViN 100.3/96.5 is doing their part to support the team.
UTICA-ROME -- Programming director Gene Conte from Regent's WIBX 950 writes with an update on his plans for the Lars Larson Show. The weekday show stays put, live from 6-8pm, but the Sunday "best of" show will be replaced by a player to be named later. Exactly one week ago, Westwood One dropped Larson. This past Monday, he was picked up by Compass Media Networks. WW1 continues to air "best of" shows as a courtesy until Compass takes over with new shows this coming Monday.
