Absence of Sunny 102.1 in Oswego is "Temporary"

OSWEGO -- Sunny 102.1 (WZUN) is going full-power on its namesake frequency, but an observant CNYRadio.com reader tells us the 106.1 signal from translator W291BU in Fulton has recently been switched to a simulcast of sister station TK99/105 (WTKW/WTKV).  We checked with Mimi Griswold, VP/Programming for Galaxy Communications and she tells us the change is temporary, but no word on when it'll go back to simulcasting Sunny.

Frank Gruenewald, Formerly of WKTV, Dies

UTICA -- Our condolences to the family and friends of Frank Gruenewald, who passed away this week at the age of 86.  Gruenewald started his broadcast career as continuity director at WKTV in 1953, and eventually became general manager of Harron Cable, staying with the company --which became Adelphia Communications along the way -- through 2002.
