WSTM Going Off-Air for Maintenance

SYRACUSE -- NBC affiliate WSTM channel 3 will be going off the air overnight tonight, for what the station is calling "routine maintenance."  According to CNYCentral.com, the outage, from 11:35pm tonight until 6:30am tomorrow, will only impact over-the-air viewers.  Satellite, cable and fiberoptic viewers won't notice anything different.

Former Syracuse Anchor Gets "CBS Evening News" Sundays

NEW YORK CITY -- Former Syracuse TV news anchor Jeff Glor has been named regular Sunday night anchor for the CBS Evening News.  The 1997 graduate of Syracuse University's Newhouse School worked for NBC affiliate WSTM-TV from 1997 to 2003.  From there, he went to Boston's WHDH-TV before joining CBS News in 2007.

POTW: Jim Kenyon Wades Through Flood (2011)

SYRACUSE -- When areas south and east of Syracuse suffered extreme flooding caused by rainfall from Tropical Storm Lee this week, TV stations sent crews south to document the damage.  At least one local reporter was well-prepared, walking through water a few feet deep to track down flooding victims and get the story.
