SYRACUSE -- Chances are, you’ve never heard his voice, but Joel Delmonico has enjoyed a long and influential career in Syracuse radio. CNYRadio.com recently chatted with Delmonico just before he retired from the VP/Market Manager post at Clear Channel Media + Entertainment's Syracuse cluster at the end of December.
SYRACUSE -- One longtime veteran of local radio will be replaced by another, when Clear Channel Syracuse Market Manager Joel Delmonico calls it a career at the end of the month. The company announced General Sales Manager Rick Yacobush as the heir to the company's highest-ranking position in Syracuse.
SYRACUSE and UTICA-ROME -- The mystery is over as to when Clear Channel's Y94 (WYYY Syracuse) and Townsquare Media's Lite 98.7 (WLZW Utica) would trade-in their usual adult contemporary formats to go all-Christmas. Both stations made the switch on Friday afternoon.
SYRACUSE -- After more than 30 years in local radio -- the last 21 as VP and General Manager of the market's Clear Channel cluster of radio stations, Joel Delmonico is ready to call it a career. He announced his retirement plans today.

SYRACUSE -- Local radio traffic anchor Kathy Denman is being honored today for helping set the theme for this year's New York State Fair. Officials at the Fair announced her idea, "Sharing the Bounty and Pride of NY," was the winner in a recent online poll among fairgoers.
SYRACUSE -- Clear Channel's six-station Syracuse cluster helped raise more than $78,000 for the Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital last month. That's the final total from the tenth annual "Radiothon for Kids," which was held over a three-day stretch last month.
SYRACUSE -- Longtime local broadcast meteorologist Dave Eichorn has a new job. Today, the Syracuse Media Group announced it has hired Eichorn to create forecasts and provide analysis of local weather conditions for syracuse.com and the Post-Standard newspaper. Eichorn tells CNYRadio.com he'll also continue to provide forecasts on the radio every weekday on Y94 (WYYY).
