All aboard for a boat ride to... nowhere? Mr. Froggy from Froggy 97 (WFRY/Watertown) was recently caught on-camera taking a break from his duties as the Watertown country station's mascot.
This POTW has a somewhat timely purpose. WRUN's (relatively) new owner Northeast Public Radio, is about to kick off its fall fund drive. Starting next week, the network of 19 stations throughout New York, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts will begin efforts to raise $800,000 in donations from listeners.

What a slooooow week this was! We only had one new story since last week's POTW. It was such a slow week, we had to go back in time for the latest POTW. We found this one at the Utica AM Radio Website, and the owners could use some help identifying one of these guys.

Platinum-selling national recording group "Tantric" recently stopped by the 95X (WAQX) studios in Syracuse. The group posed for a few pictures including this one with midday DJ Alexis. (Also read on for details on our POTW contest!)
Hot 107.9 recently hosted an "Estelle-abration Concert" featuring recording artist Estelle, who leaped to the top of the charts earlier this summer with "American Boy," a duet with Kanye West.
Because this Friday happens to be 08/08/08, we decided the Picture of the Week would come from a station that has an "8" in the frequency. You can't get any closer to an all-8 frequency than 88.9 WNYO at SUNY Oswego... and making it even better, 2008 has been a big year for WNYO.
It's been awhile since we went far back into time for the Picture of the Week, so we're going back almost 37 years for this installment. December 4, 1971, to be exact. That's the day WCNY-FM first signed on the air.
