SYRACUSE -- It's something old, yet something new... and coming this fall, it'll be on channel nine-point-two.  The digital subchannel of NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV) is going to become an affiliate of the Me-TV network starting in September.  Looking at the network's lineup, it might be best described as something similar to what "Nick at Nite" used to be, way back when it first started.

Nexstar / Newport TV Deal Moving Forward

SYRACUSE -- Newport Television's proposed sale of ABC affiliate NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV) and several other stations to Nexstar Broadcasting is a step closer to completion.  The FCC has reviewed and "accepted for filing" all documents associated with the proposed sale.  But that doesn't mean it's a done deal just yet.

Three Utica Stations Flipping to Sports, WUTQ(AM) to Become WUSP

Updated 7/23 -- UTICA-ROME -- Roser Communications Network's 95.5FM (W238CA), 1550 WUTQ and 1480 WRCK have broken away from simulcasting the news/talk/music format of 100.7 WUTQ-FM. Several signs point to the three stations flipping to a new sports talk format. While 100.7 will keep the WUTQ-FM calls, it appears 1550 WUTQ(AM) will be changing to WUSP.
