LAS VEGAS, NV -- Citadel Broadcasting, the owner of four Syracuse market radio stations, announced Thursday that it is holding "exclusive negotiations for a potential merger with Cumulus Media Inc." Cumulus, the second-largest radio operator in the nation, confirmed the news today.
SYRACUSE -- They're both named Mike, and they've both recently left Syracuse for media opportunities in other markets. At first, neither was able to discuss their next steps in great detail, but this morning (coincidentally) we've learned where former 93Q (WNTQ) jock Mike Cauchon and former Syracuse Chiefs sportscaster Mike Couzens are headed.
SYRACUSE -- Citing a "decline in ratings and funding," WCNY-TV has cancelled WCNY Connected, a weekly lifestyle/entertainment show hosted by 93Q (WNTQ) morning co-hosts Ted Long and Amy Robbins. Additionally, the station is pushing its long-running Central Issues back to its original weekly format, after trying out the show as a daily offering for awhile.
