NewsChannel 9 selling one building, expanding another

SYRACUSE -- After many years split between two separate buildings, NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV) is looking to bring its entire staff back together under a single roof.  Texas-based owner Nexstar Broadcasting is looking to expand the station's main studio building on Bridge Street in East Syracuse, while selling-off a separate office building on nearby Enterprise Parkway.

ALBANY -- Two broadcasters with ties to Central New York are among the five men named as this year's inductees to the New York Broadcasters Hall of Fame.  Former WTVH General Manager Bill Ransom, Nexstar Broadcasting CEO/President/Founder Perry Sook and three others will be honored at a special ceremony next month in New York City.

SYRACUSE -- NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV) didn't have to look too far away to find a replacement for Leigh Isaacson, who recently departed for a new job in New Orleans. Where are they now: Former Channel 9 manager's new job

SYRACUSE -- Good news for Vince Spicola, one of at least two top-level managers sidelined in a significant staff house-cleaning at NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV) last December, right after Nexstar Broadcasting Group closed on its purchase of the ABC affiliate.  Spicola has a new managerial position with one of the region's most recognizable not-for-profit organizations.

SPC: Three staffers exiting Syracuse TV newsrooms

Updated 5/10/13 -- SYRACUSE -- The Syracuse Press Club reports three people are leaving local television newsrooms for new jobs. Two will be moving out-of-state for TV news positions in larger markets, while another will remain local, with a new job outside of broadcasting.
