Price was inducted as the classic "Baron Daemon" character he portrayed on Channel 9 (then WNYS-TV, now WSYR-TV) during the 1960s.
UTICA-ROME — Don Wagner, who programmed or managed several stations in Central and Northern New York, has died, according to a public Facebook post by his wife.
CENTRAL NEW YORK — ABC affiliates NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV Syracuse) and WUTR 20 Utica have been removed from DirecTV's satellite TV service as a result of a dispute with station owner Nexstar Media Group.
Former Syracuse radio DJ Don Bombard, whose career eventually took him to the legendary WCBS-FM in New York City, has died. His wife made the announcement on Facebook on Wednesday afternoon. Bombard's radio career started in 1962 when he was 15, when he won a guest DJ contest on WOLF 1490. The DJ who introduced Bombard to the airwaves: Marv Albert.
SYRACUSE -- There's a new co-host next to Steve Infanti on "Bridge Street" on NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV), but the name is a familiar one to Syracuse TV audiences. Iris St. Meran was introduced as the long-running local daytime talk show's co-host on Monday.
UTICA-ROME -- Longtime Mohawk Valley radio listeners might remember him from his time on multiple stations including 96.9 WOUR, K-Rock and the former Rock 107. "Hard Rock Harry" Enea died after a battle with cancer, according to public Facebook posts from his family.
