CNYTVNews has received word of four vacancies in the newsroom at Sinclair-owned CNYCentral, the combo of NBC3 (WSTM-TV), CBS5 (WTVH) and CW6 (WSTM-DT2). Three of the positions -- a multimedia journalist (MMJ), a news producer and a digital news content producer guide for salaried workers -- will be dedicated to CNYCentral. SYRACUSE -- After three months of stunting, the new format for 103.9 (WNDR, Mexico) and translator 95.3 (W237AY, DeWitt) has been revealed. Locally-owned Renard Communications launched "95.3 and 103.9 The Dinosaur" at noon today, offering "Classic Top 40," predominantly from the 60s and 70s. The station brings some well-known names back to the Syracuse airwaves -- and they're looking for more talent to join the team.
OSWEGO -- The WRVO Stations are looking to expand their reach in the Ithaca and Cortland areas. This week, the FCC approved application permits for two new FM translators that would simulcast the WRVO signal from SUNY Oswego.
SYRACUSE -- NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV) is looking west towards "cheesehead territory" to fill a vacancy in its sports department. The station says Shannon Shepherd will be moving from WSAU-TV in Wausau, Wisconsin to join the Nexstar-owned ABC affiliate at the end of this month.

CLEVELAND, OH -- Former WSTM-TV general manager Bill Applegate, now serving in the same post at Cleveland CBS affiliate WOIO, is among the defendants in a lawsuit brought by one of the station's sales staffers. The plaintiff alleges that he was encouraged to provide sexual favors to encourage clients to spend money with the station.
SYRACUSE -- Public broadcaster WCNY has announced a total of four job openings at its new facilities in the Near West Side neighborhood of Syracuse. The jobs include a program director for WCNY-FM, two positions in the television joint master control facility based at WCNY, and an account executive.
