We're told Jeff Monaski is moving onto something new after 20 years with WIBX and its sister stations. The job posting says candidates must have at least 5 years of full-time on-air experience.
SYRACUSE -- The recent death of longtime Syracuse broadcast journalist Dave White got one of his former colleagues thinking. Former 570 WSYR talk host Jim Reith took to Facebook to reminisce about how much the Syracuse news media scene has changed -- in not-so-good ways -- over the past few decades.
SYRACUSE -- Local broadcasters are mourning the death of one of their own tonight. Longtime radio and TV newsman Dave White passed away Monday at the age of 71. Younger journalists and audiences may recall White as the former media relations contact at SUNY-ESF.

For the second Nielsen ratings report in a row, the iHeart news/talker has bested its sister station, former longtime market leader, B104.7 (WBBS).

He'll be remembered by younger broadcasters as a professor at SUNY Oswego. Some may remember him from Syracuse's channel 9, when it was WNYS-TV. Others around the country knew him as a kids' show host, a weatherman, an anchor, a news director and a general manager. Jerry Condra died this past week at the age of 85.

CNYTVNews has received word of four vacancies in the newsroom at Sinclair-owned CNYCentral, the combo of NBC3 (WSTM-TV), CBS5 (WTVH) and CW6 (WSTM-DT2). Three of the positions -- a multimedia journalist (MMJ), a news producer and a digital news content producer guide for salaried workers -- will be dedicated to CNYCentral.
