UTICA -- Just a little over six months since Nexstar Broadcasting revived the local news operation at ABC affiliate WUTR and Fox afffiliate WFXV (in high-definition, no less), primary co-anchor Caroline Gable has exited the station. CNYTVNews.com readers alerted us to the change, and News Director Joe Parker confirms.
OSWEGO -- A new full-power repeater for NPR affiliate WRVO has received the final step of approval from the FCC. Transmitting at 89.3FM from a tower near Clayton, the new WRVH brings WRVO programming to listeners along the Saint Lawrence River, including Alexandria Bay.
OSWEGO -- The State University of New York College at Oswego has a job opening for a broadcast/media engineer. The description doesn't mention WRVO, the powerhouse NPR affiliate located on-campus, but rather, the student-run facilities including WNYO-FM 89.9, cablecast WTOP 10, along with the school's academic audio and video production facilities.
Updated 3/18 at 7:00pm -- UTICA-ROME -- It may not be a surprise to local prognosticators, but it's now official: 100.7 WRCK is now simulcasting the hybrid news/talk/music format originally branded as "95.5 WUTQ." WRCK's new owner, Utica-based Roser Communications Network, has already applied to change WRCK's call sign to WUTQ-FM.
UTICA/ROME -- There's a new (but famililar, for some listeners) morning show coming to the Mohawk Valley. Starting Monday, the syndicated "Elvis Duran and the Morning Show" will be carried by hot AC Mix 102.5 (WUMX), weekdays from 6-10am. Duran's show, based in New York City, is already carried in more than 40 markets nationwide, including Syracuse.
SYRACUSE -- With the Syracuse University mens basketball team starting the NCAA tournament yesterday as a #1 seed, it's no surprise that everyone's literally been seeing orange all over the place this week. And that includes the wardrobes of local television newscasters.

ITHACA/CORTLAND -- Chet Osadchey, a familiar name to longtime broadcasters in Central New York, has been named VP/GM of the seven-station Cayuga Radio Group, owned by Saga Communications. He'll be replacing Susan Johnston, who announced in January that she'd be retiring by the end of this month.
Updated 12:50pm -- SYRACUSE -- Former Syracuse talk show host Gary Nolan isn't coming back to New York State, as we reported here this morning. While Clear Channel has named Gary Nolan as the new PD for two radio stations in Binghamton, it's not the same Gary Nolan who previously hosted an afternoon drive talk show on Syracuse's WXTL from 2009 to 2011.
